Can you point to the a VADP (VMware) or VSS (Hyper-V) or snapshot (XenServer) functionality in Xen that is already there but not available via the API?
This functionality is handled by LVM. It is hardly as robust as those other solutions but it does exist. In the end, you have a snapshot of your filesystem.
